Ordering Chicks/Hatching Eggs
Our preordering/ordering system is based on the month you would prefer to receive/pickup your order.  
When you place an order, please select from a month category. If you are ordering multiple items, please make sure your month selection matches all. If something shows unavailable it is sold out for that particular month. 
Keep in mind, we will likely not do any shipping of chicks in January. February is hit or miss but we will do our best when warm enough 
January/February are available for local pickup orders. 
We like to give earlier preference in the first part of the season to 4H families that intend to show the birds. 
Please know that we do our very best to fill orders based on the month and ETA given, but we are sometimes subject to mother nature. We try to communicate well when delays happen and keep our customers happy. 
Shipping Policies
If you require shipping, DO NOT order chicks for January dates! February we will ship if it is warm enough, but be flexible as we will need to work around weather. Generally the rest of the season works well for shipping chicks.
All Chicks and Hatching Eggs will be shipped via USPS and held for pickup at your nearest location.  
Minimum shipping quantities for chicks/poults is 15 birds (mix and match ok). 
Orders may be delayed in cases of severe weather and extreme cold. You will be contacted if this occurs and arrangements will be made for a future ship date. 
Shipments will generally be made on a Monday or Tuesday for delivery by Wednesday or Thursday. 
Shipping Fees are a flat rate and based on average shipping costs, shipping supply costs, and handling fees. If there is a significant difference in estimated shipping fee (more than $10) I will refund the difference after I purchase the shipping label.
Safe Arrival/Health Guarantee
 
We only ship chicks via USPS priority mail express. Our shipping fee includes the handling, the box, heat packs, and gro gel. 
 If you place an order of 15 chicks or more we want you to have 15 live chicks after 48 hours, however we will offer compensation, in the form of a replacement or store credit if there are losses within the first 48 hours. 
Replacement orders must meet our 10-15 chick minimum order requirements for safe shipping. We cannot guarantee immediate reshipment for replacement orders but we will certainly do asap.
To get your replacement or store credit you must notify us of the loss within 48 hours after you receive the birds and provide an emailed photo of the dead birds. This will be strictly enforced. If you do not pick up your chicks on the day they are available at the post office the 48-hour live guarantee is null and void.
In cases where packages become damaged in transit causing deaths, you are REQUIRED to keep and provide upon demand the damaged package to USPS. We will not offer replacements if the package is not kept for inspection. 
Refund Policies
  Chick Order Cancellations are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Refunds are not given if a cancellation is made less than 7 days prior to order shipping. Shipping Fees are refundable. There is a lot of planning that goes into this process. Orders are planned and prepped for well in advance to include collecting specifically for your order, and incubating for 3 to 4 weeks. Chicks cannot always be resold on short notice, and USPS does not ship chicks more than 24 hours old. For this reason we have a large cancellation fee to cover the inconveniences of a cancelled order. 
Hatching Egg Cancellations are subject to a 25% cancellation fee. Refunds are not given if a cancellation is made less than 7 days prior to order shipping. Shipping Fees are refundable. 
It is imperative that you communicate in advance if the estimated time frame for shipping your order does not work for you. We can work with you on setting up a better date for you, and this is much easier done in advance than last minute. 
Hatching Eggs
Hatching eggs have a guarantee that they will arrive in good condition without damage. We offer a pro-rated compensation as store credit for damaged product. You must email photos of the damaged eggs within 24 hours of pickup to receive credit, and the package MUST be kept for inspection by USPS. This will be strictly enforced.
The success rates of hatching eggs are not guaranteed. There is a lot that we cannot control when it comes to shipping hatching eggs. We do our best to control conditions on our end to include timely collection, proper hen to rooster ratios, not selling any product we don't have good success rates on ourselves, and proper packaging.
